Hi Tuggers!
We just deeded back a timeshare. We only had it a year. Although we enjoyed staying there, we got the maintenance bill with lots of conditions, at the end of the not so friendly letter, they gave us the option of deeding back the week, no harm no foul.
Just $10.00 processing fee.
We both decided to give the week back.
So now we have 3 timeshare weeks. We never owned 11 at the same time, just realized we have owned 11 timeshare weeks over 38 years. 8 of them were tug resales. Thanks to you, TUG we have learned so much about buying, selling, renting, exchanging timeshares.

I think my number is in the 30’s for the different timeshares I owned. Not even sure how many I own now, need to count. Just know too many. Working on diminishing my inventory, just so hard to pick what to keep. Every one was a needle in the haystack, a find, but I found too many!

Happy New Year.

I feel like such a novice. Have only been at this for 5 years and own 3. That will be likely all we will own with a few possible tweeks.

You now have peaked my curiousity. What did they say? And why would they give you the option to deed it back? Was it at end of life and they wanted to convert to condos?

What was your best timeshare out of the 11?

We are down to 1! We started with two weeks that my in-laws purchased but never used. Then bought 3 more over the years. The first two were RTU and thankfully expired. We recently sold 2 and just have the one left for trading. Things are so different now. When I read the complicated point strategies, I am totally lost.

I have been an owner for 24 years now. I have been at a high of 15 but through use (RTU) and some divesting, down to 12.

Would like to be down a few more, but I have not kicked in the attempts to deed back these yet, but that should be on my agenda for 2020. My first NY resolution. Oh boy.

The letter was just full of payment info, if you don’t pay by December 31, there would be late fees, also, they will send a separate assessment fee and didn’t say what the cost would be. It was strange, the last paragraph stated if we couldn’t afford or didn’t want our week, they would take it back. I called the resort and they sent out paperwork for us to get notarized and even gave a self address stamped envelope. The Timeshare isn’t converting to condos, they do make more when they rent out units than the maintenance fee.
To answer your other question, it’s difficult to say which Timeshare is my favorite, we made use of all of them, and We still have 3 different ones. Actually, we haven’t stayed at The Pines in Virginia yet.

Is The Pines Resort in Virginia in some kind of finical troubles with lack of owners paying their MF ?

Not that I’m aware of? It pulls 17 TPU on RCI. Lowest maintenance fee under 400 dollars, Pet friendly.
We have a one bedroom summer week.

We've owned between six and eight weeks over the past few years, although I would like to get that down to about four "someday".

We will probably sell our Marriott weeks (the Marriott MF's are much higher than the Vistana weeks), but we are waiting until the Marriott/Vistana integration before pulling that trigger.

I can relate to this. I have been able to travel and see many beautiful places. I can add staying in one bedroom condos at less the the price of a hotel room made it even nicer. I do not know how many I have owned over the years but I have just sold the last two Wyndham deeds I own. I thank everyone for their help educating me on buying, selling and learning to utilize my ownership .
