Friends getting to Harborside before us

We have an II exchange to Harborside in our name. Our friends are getting there before us and are using the lock off side of the 2 BR. Is there any way they can check in before we get there? Would calling the resort help? Thanks.

I would try to add their names to the reservation--when owners rent out their units the names of those using it are added to the reservation. You could try sending a letter with your name on it along with theirs but I think adding the names to the reservations is the best way to go. Calling the resort may be the easiest way to add their names.

Your should ask the resort directly. The resort may be able to add your guests name to the reservation. If they say they will allow it with your permission, make sure to note who you spoke to and give that info to your friends in case they get a different answer when checking in.

1. Call the resort 2 or 3 days before and use the Starwood reservation number AND the II confrmation number.
2. Give your friends a copy of the II confirmation
3. Give your friends a letter stating they are traveling with you, refer to the Starwood and II resie numbers in the letter.

It SHOULDN'T be a problem.

We didn't have a problem a few weeks ago.

I faxed the resort my room preference along with my request to allow my family members to checkin before I arrive. I provided the information from the II confirmation (name, address, reservation #, etc) along with the names of the family members joining us.

I also gave my family members a copy of the fax request along with a copy of the II confirmation. They had no problems checking-in before we arrived. They also setup separate room charging privileges.

Yes, we got our room preference but I think we were just lucky. I wouldn't count on it but it doesn't hurt to try.
