As January rolls around, the scammy cockroaches come out of the woodwork in force to try to part you from your money with fake rentals!

these solicitations are common for those who post WISH ads, as the scammers know exactly what you are looking for and contact you claiming to have it available!

Thankfully most of the reports of these scammers come from TUG members who are able to identify the scam ahead of time! We would still like to remind all owners or potential renters to do a basic level of fact checking and verification before ANY significant amount of money changes hands.

This article is posted in numerous places in our marketplace, and in the advice section, and as a sticky...however reminders are always helpful!

Resorts Owned
WKORV, WKV, 2-SDO, 4-Kauai Beach Villas, Island Park Village (Yellowstone), Hyatt High Sierra, Dolphin's Cove (Anaheim)
Their stories vary, but most of the scammers offering rentals either cannot produce bonifide confimations from the resort, or send you an obviously fake confirmation. So do your due diligence! If it's too good to be true - it's probably a scam.
