We've never been to Frenchman Cove. We had a two bedroom reserved at Frenchman Cove, but a third couple is coming with us and I was able to change to a three bedroom. I noticed on the MVC reservation the two bedroom said "2 Bedroom Villa, 2 Bathrooms, Ocean Side", while the three bedroom says "3 Bedroom Villa, 3 Bathrooms, Ocean View". I'm curious if these views are actually the same thing? Is one better than the other? Are there any oceanfront views? The points chart doesn't have different views, so I'm confused.

I believe the 3BRs are either top floor of each building OR in a full stack (all floors) of the Crown (Check in building). Just ask to NOT be in the Crown building and you should have a great view.

All views at MFC are listed as Ocean View. It's a little deceiving because none of them are looking at an ocean. All of them have a direct view straight out on the balcony at either the Caribbean or Pacquereau Bay. As far as I know the 3bdr's are all on the top floor of each building, there are 9 of them and I don't think any are stacked on each floor.

It must be Marriott.com that is showing the ocean side vs ocean view?

I can speak from very recent, first hand experience.
I was thrilled with my Interval Exchange into a 3 Bedroom Unit.
I did a lot of reading of reviews -- and came up with the mistaken idea that all 3 BR units were on the top floor.

At check-in, when I was given my keys, I was told to take the elevator DOWN one floor to my room. I expressed my disappointment, only to be told all other 3 BRs were booked -- nothing could be done.

I got over it quickly. My room did face the water, but it was an obstructed view.

But, I think this is an example of the way our expectations can negatively affect our experience.

I did not know this until I read this thread…and I feel your pain.
I hope you will write a quick review on TUG mentioning this situation

So were you in the same building as checkin? Crown? If so, that would align with @Fasttr reply above.
