When we check in on Sun vs our regular check in day of sat we were, of course, directed to the parking pass desk. When we arrived they started with the "you and owner or exchanger" spill..

we were offered 4 water park passes or 4 golf passes for a tour.. we declined and went to unit. the next morning the phone rang and we did not answer and they, suspect resort tour dept, was calling and did not leave message..

the next day "they" called again this time i answered and was offered the same 4 park passes and they added $50.00 to use around the resort said not now call back..

they did the next day and the offer was a flat $200 bucks.

We did not take the offer but wanted to share this with the masses..

I was in the hot tub talking with a couple from Delaware and asked if they had stayed in the Mountainside villas units.. He was telling me they had just purchased a MS Villa unit that day and I was like " have you heard of timeshare users group?" his response "WHO" Sowi i was telling them, his wife was there as well, about how you can find cheap resales at TUG.

I was able to find out about a facebook page for the business they own and put a note reminding them of TUG2.net to check it out.

I am amazed in how many long time timeshare uses have NEVER heard of TUG..

I am amazed too how many timeshare users never heard of tug. What amazes me more is when you tell them about tug most have no interest.

Of course, we are all timeshare addicts here, but I find the same and actually am amazed how many people don’t give their ownerships any thought whatsoever. They don’t know anything.

I changed your title to "Freebies" which sounds like a better incentive than "FREE bee's" - but it did make me chuckle.

I agree with that, at least based on a recent experience. I was at Seaworld talking with two other people. One did the HGVC presentation that day and the topic of maintenance fees for HGVC came up. The other gentleman stated that he has a ton of points with DVC and his maintenance fees were only $800, proudly pointing out his fees were less than HGVC. Having recently purchased DVC I knew that $800 doesn’t cover “a ton of points” so I asked him how many points he had and he stated 400 (MF for 400 points is at a minimum $2300).

We were at Massanutten and talked a lot in the hot tub to people who had bought. Most that had bought had upgraded one or two times. I cann't imagine the all in cost for those units. I guess that is why there are so many owner updates. Some asked and were shocked that we had rented our week for about 250 dollars. It is hard to figure out what to tell people. I couldn't bring myself to burst the bubble of the proud owner of the top of the line units, but did talk one couple into rescinding a fresh purchase (at least I think I did).

Like you, Carl; I don't have a price. Nothing that they can offer seems worth the time, stress, annoyance, etc. that one of these sales presentations places on the attendee. I know "the deal" and could easily play the game with the salesman, laugh in his/her face over inaccuracies and lies being told. I could "toy" with them for awhile and waste their time. Then, I could walk away with my "freebies".

No thanks. Fortunately, I am in a place in my life where I don't need to sit through these things for "gain." Now, if I can't afford something on my vacation, I just don't do it/have it, or I do a trade-off of dropping something else less important.

This wasn't always true in our younger days. In those days, it helped get us on some vacations. In the long run though, it cost us more. We bought two developer purchases back in the 80's. Not a negative thing since it laid a great foundation for 30+ years of timeshare ownership.

NO MORE TIMESHARE TOURS OR OWNER UPDATES!!! NOW GIVE ME MY PARKING PASS AND LET ME GET ON WITH MY VACATION!!

Unplugging the phones in the unit are an option. However we don't. We just don't answer the phone.

I agree there are so many timeshare owners / peoples that have never heard of Tug’s and the word resale.

What is a timeshare resale? Dollars in your pocket and great vacation time still with family and friends.

Now, I wish some family members would just pay part of my yearly MF.:p:bawl::bawl::bawl:

Massanuten is famous for their upgrade sale pitch policies. You can upgrade to the new Regal units for x number of dollars. This will be great for your family and grandchildren.
