Can you list what week is named on your deed? I believe the new owner will have the choice between paying to join Diamond's Club or simply using the week they acquire from you.

The original purchase through ILX listed the deeded week as annual floating "red" week (seven days plus one weekend), Seasonal priority: Prime, Unit type: Silver Membership. You are correct. My understanding is the new owner has the choice of purchasing Club membership.

I wanted to follow up to all interested in this property. The one recurring question has been how does a new buyer go about joining "The Club" at DRI after you purchase a timeshare from a previous owner. The answer from Diamond Resorts International:


You should contact the Diamond Owner's Enhancement Group at their toll-free number. There are two numbers, so if you cannot get through on one, please try the other at 888.250.5988 or 866.804.8049. You will need to purchase a minimum number of points and upgrade the deeded week into THEClub(R). I think the Owner's Enhancement group would be the best place to get the information.

Question for any DRI Owner!!

I am a member of the club already. Does anyone know if i could add these points to my membership total or would I have to use them at this resort only and not add them to my club membership.

Do I understand this offer correctly. The week has already been converted to points and would have to be used as points which is what I would want. That way I could stay 2 or 3 days at a time. Is this correct.

Does anyone own DRI points outside of the club as well as own points with a club membership.

If spliting points (in and out of a The Club membership) is possible then how does DRI the points straight?

DRI member to member sales

Hi Martha,

Here is what I was able to learn from the member board at DRI regarding the transfer of points from the acquisition of another members deeded property.

"When a member of THE Club® purchases points from another member of THE Club®, the points purchased are only able to be used for reservations in the Diamond Resorts International® (DRI) Collection to which they belong. Additionally, these points would not be added to your existing membership in THE Club®, rather, they will be available through a different membership number that corresponds to a Regional Club that does not have access to using Interval International® or Diamond SelectionsSM Member Benefits.

If you would like to have these points converted to your current membership in THE Club®, you would need to contact our Owner Enhancement Team at 888.250.5988. They can discuss this procedure with you further and answer any account specific inquiries as well."

Again, I would recommend you call them at the number listed above to inquire directly.

Days at a time

Additionally Martha,

With MY present membership and points to time ratios of the properties within the Diamond Club, with my 6,000pts I get each year, I can easily stay an entire week at most of the 11 DRI properties. With the 12,000 I have presently banked I would be able to stay at a 2 or 3 bedroom with up to 6 people for a week at some of the locations. Additionally as you know DRI offers point special locations as well where you can get a week stay for often as little as 3,000 points.

And FWIW, I understand the portion of the paragraph that states... "When a member of THE Club® purchases points from another member of THE Club®, the points purchased are only able to be used for reservations in the Diamond Resorts International® (DRI) Collection to which they belong."... that would be referring to ALL the DRI Collection properties that I have to choose from in my DRI Club which are the 11 various resorts owned by DRI.
