Is there a special assessment for this resort?

Sorry for the delay. I would pay the special assessment in full, so no added cost there.

I have seen a few offers like yours and makes me wonder why would a owner go ahead and pay these extra fee's and still dump the timeshare.. After paying you still have your beautiful resort to use.

I could understand not paying and giving it away with new owner paying the fee's unless you feel your resort will pull this again.:ponder:

Age, health, life circumstances and ongoing maintenance fees all figure into a timeshares' value. In a few years, the value of the timeshares that I own will greatly depreciate from my point of view, but may be valuable in the eyes of a younger person.

Hi Phil,

Due to my husband and my conflicting work schedules now, we sadly cannot take any family vacations, so timeshare ownership in general just isn't right for us anymore. It's not anything specific about the resort.

I want to pay the fees so that the new owner wouldn't have to incur that cost since it was technically an assessment made while I was the owner. I just feel it's the right thing to do.

I even have my full points from last year 6,500 points banked, which the new owner would also take over. Nothing against the resort or Diamond...our family just can't seem to find the time to take advantage of the ownership, so would like to find someone else who can enjoy.

Best,
J. Washington

Two things.

1. Even though the S.A is covered, DRI said if the default rate is higher than expected another S.A or fee can be charged to owners.

2. DRI will not change the title of a TS if the S.A is not covered. Not to mention, if transfer is attempted and such info is withheld, it would be void AND illegal.

Just make sure you know what you are getting into. I was looking at this and am still doing my research (5 hours so far...)
