I am giving up the first of my three contracts with Shell Vacation Club. As most of the resorts are out west, I can not take full advantage of it. Therefore I am re-aligning my portfolio and giving this one away.

• Home Club Reservation Period: Ownership in the Shell Owners Club provides a priority reservation period 365 (about a year) until 277 (about 9 months) into any resort within the owned Home Club. A minimum of 7 consecutive nights can be reserved.

• 2012 MF's have been paid in the amount of $443.09, $320.97 for the first 1350 and then .1643 for each additional point. This makes a great addition if you are already a member, or a great starter package. This was a 3% DECREASE over last year, a rarity in this industry.

• Next points allocated Jan 1, 2013 (none remaining for 2012), there is a $200 transfer fee that I WILL PAY!

• Access to all SVC Resorts & Affiliated Resorts: A request for any other Shell Vacations Club resort may be made at 276 (about 9 months) days with a minimum night stay of 2 nights.

• The Points will be eligible for SVC Resorts, SVC Affiliated Resorts, SVC Collections, SVC Premium Perks and Interval ® Exchanges.

• Shell Vacations Club membership includes an annual Gold membership with Interval International.

Important: The Points will not be eligible for use by the buyer in either the SVCLifeStyles or SVC Elite ®

Since I am not familiar with the SHell program, can you give me an idea on what I could book at Fisherman's Wharf on that number of points?

Yes, thanks Slip!

Just wanted to say thank you to you as well. I do not check this site unless I get an email saying there is something new in a thread I am on generally so only saw this post last night.

No problem, glad I could help.
I have the file for Shell's points chart. If anyone
needs it PM me your email address and I will send it to you.
I've been looking into Shell and Bluegreen for a small amount
of points.

In the Shell knowledge thread is a pdf of the Shell points chart.
I've had Shell for ~6 years and yet to see points value change; so this 2009 chart is still accurate.
Here's the link

Some additional info on SVC

Just some additional info, which might be useful.

As SLIP has pointed out, this number of points may not necessarily be useful if you are trying to get a whole week for a lot of areas. It does make a great starter package, and here is why;

There are two features that add significant value to the program once you are in, and is how I have found the most use out of the program.

The first is their point rental program. You can make one time rentals of points when booking your vacation, so you do not use your annual allotment. Unlike some other programs, you can actually do this for the same or LESS then the per point price of your MF's.

< 2,000 = $0.25/pt2,000-3,450 = $0.23/pt
3,500-4,950 = $0.21/pt
5,000-7,450 = $0.19/pt
7,500-19,950 = $0.18/pt
20,000-29,950 = $0.17/pt
> 30,000=$0.165/pt

So although you may not have enough points for a week, you could purchase a one time allotment in order to get your vacation. As many have pointed out in the past, why pay more MFs than you have to when you can rent.

The other thing to keep in mind is dash away deals. This program offers members points available to rent at a 40% discount off standard rental points.

- Dash Away Points can be rented for stays at SVC and affiliated resorts
- Dash Away Points can be rented within 14 days prior to arrival. The length of stay must be 6 nights or less.
- Dash Away Deals cannot be combined with any other SVC Discounted Points offers.

This is good if you like to get away for weekends in particular. I just recently made a weekend rental at Carriage Hills in Ontario this way for 800 points. The cost to me was $120 and I rented it to someone else for $200.

NOTE: I am NOT selling this as a rental property or opportunity, just showing how you can maximize your use out of the property. It is similar to bonus time, or last minute points for other programs. My property has frequent last minute availabilty, and may be easier to get into than others so your milage may vary. Still something to take into consideration.

If there is anything I can do to "sweeten the pot" for those who may be interested let me know. Two other contracts will be given away in the Hawaii and Pacific Clubs. I am only keeping one out of the three, so not really concerned which. If you are interested in the details of these, let me know!

Bump

Still available, previous buyer has stopped communicating after agreeing to buy and has not sent paperwork. This is a great start package as there are always last minute deals and it comes with a Gold II membership which has helped pay for the MF's.

I would potentially be interested. I almost purchased from the developer while in Hawaii but backed out before they could hook me on the line for full retail because I had looked at some resale opportunities and saw it could be much cheaper than full price.

I have yet to buy any through resale but that is what I am planning to do. I would prefer 7000 points.
