A friend forwarded an e-mail that looked suspiciously like a promotion or scam about Sears and it's policy towards the National Guard and Reserve.
Now, we all know that employers are required to hold a citizen-soldier's job for them when called up or on military duty, but Sears goes a huge step further. They keep up health care benefits and make up the difference in salary while the soldier serves.
I know that Sears is not my first choice when it comes to shopping, but since I've become aware of how they treat employees, I will try to do at least some of my shopping there. We need more companies like this.
Here's a link to the Snopes article on it in case you want to read it. Seems legit.

I know there are other companies that in the face of tough economic times are still doing the right thing. Anybody else care to post some?
