My flights to St. Lucia on American airlines for December have been changed 4 times now to an unacceptable arrival time. Not once has AA contacted me to notify me of the change. I was originally leaving NY to St. Lucia at around 6:40 AM connecting though PR at around 11:00 AM and arriving at Viggie airport at around 2:00 PM. I am staying at Windjammer landing and I was told Viggie is close to Windjammer. I booked a direct flight back to NY from the larger airport Henwarra which I think is about 1 1/2 hours from Windjammer which is fine going back since it leaves at around 5:00 PM and we figured we could get a taxi driver to give us a tour of the Island on the last day as we head to the airport.

My current flight into Viggie now leaves at around 7:00 AM connecting in PR and requires a 6 hour layover which will get me to Viggie airport at 9:00 PM so after customs and getting our luggage I figure we won't get to Windjammer till 10:30 PM.

I have checked all the choices and none are very good but I can get a flight out at 5:45 AM from NY through Miami which will get me to Hewanurra airport at around 3:00 PM and then either rent a car or take a taxi for our 1 1/2 hour trip to Windjammer.

Car rentals are very expensive and I really don't want a car all week. If I rent a car for 1 day and leave it at Viggie airport it will cost me around $100.

So what to do? Anyone know how much a cab will cost from Hewanurra airport to Windjammer? Anyone have an honest cab driver they can recommend for this trip? :crash:

The taxi drivers in St. Lucia are in a strictly controlled union and are very professional, so I wouldn't be concerned about making prearrangements for your arrival.

Rates are fixed. I don't recall the exact fare but it may be about US$90 each way.
