Flight Deal of the Day: Fly from San Francisco to London for $300 - by Cynthia Drescher/ Traveler/ Conde Naste/ cntraveler.com

"Norwegian Air's newest route is making traveling from the west coast of the U.S. to London more affordable than ever.

What if we told you that it was possible to fly from the west coast to London for less than it usually costs just to cross the country? Well, it's true, and you can thank Norwegian Air's newest route—from Oakland International Airport to London's Gatwick Airport—for the Christmas list idea. The airline announced today that it will connect San Francisco Bay Area and London with thrice-weekly service starting May 12, 2016. Fares for the new route are now on sale from $299 each way, including taxes, on Norwegian's website..."

I suspect you'll get what you pay for.

But I could be wrong.

Cheers

They've been flying out of LAX for a while. All I can say is like most other carriers (including AA and Delta starting soon, or perhaps already started...) they will not put you on another airlines plane if they have issues with their own. Earlier this year I met some people at a LAX hotel (where I often stay prior to an early morning flight) who were delayed by Norwegian due to equipment issues, and couldn't get a flight out until the next day. This is the type of risk you take when flying a small airline.
