I was wondering if anybody knew what happened to the area that was used for sales when The Flamingo was remodeled? It was kind of a mezzanine with a walk up without elevator access I believe. I assume that Hilton built more units and put them up for sale but how could they without a sales force there anymore? Perhaps through the sales force at The Strip property would be my guess, but maybe somebody knows how this was handled? Curt

This floor (2nd) was gutted and as you stated rooms were constructed to fill the floor. The upstairs lobby is still there, in the front of the building, however there are now rooms on this floor. Just finished up a great 4 day get-a-way there.

no sales at Flamingo

Just there for a week over Memorial Day. All HGVC sales were at the Strip location--just owner service person at the Flamingo to set up appointments. We we re offered, but did not attend. Had a great time at the resort. What a fantastic location! The 1 in 4 exchange rule almost makes me want to buy HGVC!

We just got back and they are now painting the outside of the building.

They were painting LV Hilton back in April. At Flamingo they are errasing the pink from the building and making it more uniform with HGVC colors, which is fine.

Still there's that non-conformist streak in me which wants to object for no appreciable reason.

I was there in May and they were painting. That is a big job, so hot there. It will look good once completed.

I have only observed photos of what the flamingo looked like before renovations. It was not the nicest looking place, but it may have been in its day. I visited this year after all the work inside had been completed and it looks so amazing inside. I am so proud to be an owner here. I love it!!!

Any other flamingo Qs as I will be checking in tomorrow for a 3 night stay.

Oddly enough this is my first usage other than an open season rental, as an HGVC member. My family often use the points that I have. I have stayed at plenty HGVC but always via RCI for cheaper points stays.

Is there an Elite Lounge at the Flamingo like there is at the Strip location?

No, there is talk of opening 1 in the future, however currently there is only the one at the strip property. You are still able to visit the strip property and get into the elite lounge with your elite key from the flamingo. (You will have to show the card, it will not actually open the door.) Have a great stay! Mark Shaffer is the GM here and is extremely helpful if you need anything.

Does the flamingo resort have a great location? How old are the timeshare units? Which is the newest HGVC in las vegas?

It is the most centrally located of the 3 resorts in Vegas, it is locationed just behind the Flamingo Casino. It is the oldest of the 3 resorts in Vegas, but it just went through a remodel.

I like the Strip location for the units and views. It is the newest location and has an additional tower is still to be constructed (or are 2 towers remaining??)
I like the Flamingo location for the proximity to the active part of the strip. Oldest of the 3.
The Las Vegas Hilton location is where the convention center is and is my least favorite of the 3.

I have heard rumor that the karen location is going to go through a huge reno soom. Dont know how true that is, but still if that is the case it will go right back to top quality.

Only time can tell, but I think it will be very nice when done.

How is the pool area at the strip? Also, whereabouts is it located?

It is located on the West side of the tower. It has morning shade and afternoon sun. It was a large pool area considering at the time that not all the towers had been built. I suspect it might get busy when all the towers are completed.

SFX handles HGVC exchanges as well and does not have a 1 in 4 rule.
