Fixed weeks at Marriott's Lahaina Villas, oceanfront, but broker says they float, so I am confused

I am not interested in a fixed week, unless it's week 7-12, and this one is a fixed week 20, but the broker says it floats. That is not what my understanding is of a fixed week.

A little enlightment would be nice, from those that are truly "in the know" on these things.

Which broker is it? If it has an assigned week and unit number, then it’s truly fixed. However, I think you have the ability to turn the week back in and use it as a float, but I’m not 100% sure. I’d be afraid that you might not be able to find availability if you turn it in.

I am not going to buy it, even though it's a great price. This broker is with Timeshare Resales Hawaii. She contacted me after I maybe inquired about Westin oceanfront availability, but I would go with Syed.

I've purchased from Karen from Timeshare Resales Hawaii twice. I've found her to be very knowledgeable, and she got my floating weeks booked prior to closing, and once got me out of a sale when I asked her to, which is more than I've gotten from others. If the price is right I would go with her after double-checking that float detail, and also referencing it in the contract.

That's the broker who contacted me.

I already spent my wad, actually, when Rick told me I could buy an additional Westin Ka'anapali week I wanted. He left it up to me.

It’s been a while, I believe the ocean front units were sold as fixed weeks. Other views are floating. They still have a week assigned but that’s just for deeding.

Pretty sure Napili and Lahaina were set up the same.
