First visit to Ft. Lauderdale area -any advice?

Going to Ft. Lauderdale (Pomano Beach to be exact) for the first time next month. Plan on going to the following:

Ft. Lauderdale- river tour of the mansions, Riverwalk, maybe Butterfly World

Everglades National Park

Key Largo - snorkeling at John Pennecamp Park

Miami - haven't gotten that far in planning, but will include South Beach

Beach time

Any 'must see's' or 'don't waste your time' things? Additional advice?
 
Afternoon & Evening Riverboat Trip.

We enjoyed the riverboat tour past all the rich folks' yachts & mansions. The P.A. announcer said which magnate owned which sumptuous property as we cruised by.

The destination was a campground-like grove upriver where a barbecue supper was served (yum), followed by "professional" entertainment acts (not all ready for prime time).

When the show curtain came down, everybody got back on the boat for the return trip.

We had a nice time. I don't recall whether we bought our tickets or got'm free as timeshare tour incentives.

Riverwalk is DOA, there are condos being built there. The sticky at the top of the Florida threads has a ton of good stuff. We had a great time at Howl at the Moon in the Beach place complex this weekend.The Hardrock is always fun. Duck tours may inerest you..
