I have just arrived at the WKORV.
It was such a terrible day arriving in Maui but things started to get better.
I have lost all my paperwork.
It seems like it's wonderful resort and can't wait until tomorrow. Just checked in and settling down.
One question for owners, do most of you valet park the first time checking in? The inside parking garage is full and have difficult moving bags. Is there other indoor parking?

I'm sorry you had a bad day - what happened?

You should have no problem getting into the garage for the rest of the week - you just arrived late tonight. We found out that the parking garage empties out when everyone leaves for dinner and if you have dinner a little bit earlier, you can get a spot with no problem. I'm still surprised the garage is that full this time of year! The outdoor parking is fine too.

They have luggage carts & bell hops.

What paperwork did you lose?

What unit did you get????

My parents got their baggages right but it took 40 minutes of talking since they said they couldn't see Hawaiian air reservation. Similar thing with my airline but screwed things up and couldn't send it to Maui but to Honolulu.
So I had to stop and I had to carry 2 - 50 pound bags and the baby seat by myself since my wife had to hold the baby. One of our 50 pound bag tore apart and it helped me to carry it little bit easier since it was lighter than when we shipped but it seems like we lost half of our stuff in the bag. (Can we get it compensated?):bawl:
Anyways I ran 10 minutes to get to first Hawaiian Air check in. We waited in line at Pago Pago line for Hawaiian airline. What is that line for? I talked to first class check in rep since we were in a hurry and the lady told us to wait in Economy line. 10 minutes before departure and waiting in long line, another rep told us we were in wrong check in. We need to goto different check in. We rushed over there and we were in such a hurry I left my all my paperwork there trying to show them our reservation. :bawl:
Then we ran and we got in the plane.
Problem at rental car since I lost all the paperwork.:bawl:
My car does not lock and I didn't know that until I got to Westin.
I think most of it is my fault and I had an earful all day from my wife. With that my baby cried every single time we didn't hold her. As lap baby, we tried to hold her throughout the whole air plane ride. What a day. :bawl:
I think I can write a book about that one day.
You were right about unit assignment. They didn't give us that good unit but we got a clean unit with no view. I am just happy to be here. :whoopie:

Glad you made it! Sorry you lost your paperwork. But you're in Hawaii now-- get your wife a lava flow and relax.

For future reference, I always put my itinerary and confirmations together in an email which I send to myself. Since I'm able to access my email account anywhere in the world via the internet, I can pull up the email and re-print everything out if needed. If that's not a possibility, make copies and give one to your spouse to hold on to.

Thanks. I am glad I saved some info on my emails and laptop. I am still missing some of the informations but I think I can get by ok.
I will be off to Vacation kick off meeting. is it worth it?
How about Monday night gathering?
So glad to see people snorkeling in the early morning. There are others who love snorkeling as much as I do. I will start it tomorrow morning.
It's kind of dark since yesterday. Hopefully things will clear up soon.

One more tip in addition to what Lisa said: With Hawaiian Air you can print your boarding passes at home on your computer 24 hours before your flight.

You might also want to consider traveling with less luggage - especially to Hawaii. As long as we have a w/d DH and I only take carry-ons - even for 2 weeks. It's so liberating not to be dragging around 50 lb. suitcases, and we never have to wait for checked luggage or stand in line to check luggage!

Your meetings are likely to be sales presentations.... PLEASE don't buy from the developer!

they offered 7500 points of SPG for tour. I do wonder how the resorts is so I might do the tour. I was hoping for better deal but we will see.

Vacation kick off is like a sales pitch on spa services, restaurants there, tanning supplies, and water classes. They do provide coffee and some fruit with a couple of modest door prizes. I was up anyway and curious, but generally not worth it. However, if you were going to use the spa and take classes, then learning about the 25% discount at the spa for everything booked during the open house is worth it. However, even at 25% off it was too much for me.

Tanning supplies are VERY expensive IMHO. Classes seem high too, but then you're at a Westin.

have FUN!

We've never used the valet. If you need help with luggage, although too late now, but maybe for check-out, just aask the bellman to assist and tip them. That's what we do at check-in; we get groceries at the Safeway before checking in and they bring EVERYTHING up for us including the groceries. And yes, I agree that earlier in the evening parking is not a problem, but if eat when most eat then parking in garage will be full. However, I'm guessing you'd rather eat earlier with kids then later.
