About Taxi to Hotel, do I need to book in advance or just grab one at Airport?
Anyone rent a car or is better to just book someone to drive you around island?
Any day of the week better (or worse) to go to Nevis - going mid May?
For your first question - have been there many times - plenty of taxis always available at the airport.

You may get totally different responses, as some will always rent a car some will always use taxis and some may do a mix of both.
It is one of the better Caribbean islands for good friendly taxi drivers at a reasonable price.
You don’t need to book in advance though, as there are always taxis ready and waiting at the airport (there have been every time we have visited anyway)

There is no need to book a taxi in advance to get to the hotel. We always book one in advance for our return to the airport.
We found that using taxis for travel was the best choice for us, especially if you want a complete tour of the island (and evening travel to/from restaurants for dinner)
I would suggest going to Nevis on any day the cruise ships are not in port. And make sure you go to Sunshines for a Killer Bee.

We brought frozen meat and fish the last time we went. Headed there next week and plan to do the same.

So..I always bring meat and condiments to St. Thomas with me but it’s U.S.V.I. so there are no issues. Several years ago I went to St. Kitts and did the same. As we de-planed and went through customs there was a stand for bag searches and I realized (belatedly) I was in trouble and could loose my goods. Luckily I was not selected and never found out what the rules were. Once when returning from Spain I brought ~ $100 of hard meats back and lost them in customs (didn’t know I couldn’t bring prepared products in). The short of it is you take your chances.

On one of our previous trips to St Kitts, other guests we were speaking to brought a full cool bag of frozen meat in a suitcase only for their luggage to go missing and not reappear until 4/5 days later - yuck!
