Hi! I wanted some advice to make sure I’m putting in my trades correctly for my MGV 3BR. I reserved July 4th week 2025 and locked off. It looks like it has the highest TDI. Now what? My plan is to try to get Christmas week in 2025 and 2026 in the Caribbean or Florida. My questions are:

1. What are the fees involved and do I pay them when I request a trade, or when confirmed?

2. Can I put in searches now for both 2025 and 2026 weeks? I have a 2BR and a studio to trade.

3. Which side should I use for each week? Should I use the 2BR for 2025 since that is sooner?

4. When making requests for resorts, is there an order of preference? Or should I just put in as many as I can? I understand since we are limited to a holiday week, I should put in a wide range of resorts I’ll be happy with.

TIA for your guidance!

Do you pay for your own II account or do you have one provided a part of MVC club dues?

It’s a resale legacy week, so we pay for II ourselves.

If you select resorts within the Marriott/Westin family, you will pay $164 exchange fee when you set up the ongoing search.
If you include even one resort which is not Marriott or Westin, you will pay $229 (even if you ultimately match a Marriott or Westin).

What size unit do you need?

We would need a two bedroom. Our week locks off to a studio and a two BR. Thanks!

You can put in a search up to a maximum of 2 years. No, you cannot list preference of resorts. Just put in resorts that you want, not something that you don't.
