Thanks to Jessyoo's 12/16 post, we just enjoyed our first Restaurant.com dinner :) $25 off the bill for just $2 - wow!

I bought three certificates to use on our current TS vacation week. We left one at home by mistake (I know I can reprint it here if I find a printer).

I called our first choice to ask if they were open for regular dinner New Year's Eve, and if we could use the certificate. Turns out that they were closed for the season, and the call was routed to another restaurant under the same ownership - the third one we had a certificate for! We enjoyed a pleasant dinner, good food, and a great discount - all thanks to TUG! :cheer:

Glad you found the Restaurant.com deal and liked them. As I've posted before, we are big vacation users of them. On our current trip to Florida, we had three certificates and have used two. The third will need to be refunded, however, as the restaurant did not seem to be open or still in business when we tried to go there a couple of nights ago. Past history has been that should be no hassles, however, as it's happened to us before from time to time.

Yvonne: By accident I duplicated a restaurant during the 'sale' you gave us. We did go to the place for one meal, but really don't care to go back. What recourse do I have? I have one that is $50 plus the 18% tip and it is just a Beer bar/cafe. Any suggestions is appreciated!

Cathy - I'm not Yvonne, but if you look at the fine print on the certificate, somewhere down there is a statement that within 90 days you can turn it into a Restaurant.com certificate. Then you could use it elsewhere. That's what we'll do with the one we forgot to bring with us on our vacation.

Cathy,

What PJROSE said :)

I've found them to be VERY accommodating, even beyond the 90 day window. As I said, I have a couple (one that as bought just last week before our departure and the other from back in the summer) that I'm confident they will issue credits on.

I hope you are still enjoying the value that restaurant.com provides!

I would also like to thank forum members for the Restaurant.com suggestion. I bought a bunch of certificates and have had a great time giving them to family and friends this Christmas. I also have a few for our Barony Beach vacation in April. Tuggers are the best.
Happy New Year.

You do have to pay attention to the minimums and compare it to the the type of restaurant. Generally the restaurants will have menus online. Sometimes if only two people, you would not spend $50, etc. if a beer & hamburger menu.

bobby: YOu are right -- some how I thought I was ordering at our favorite dining house listed, but ended up with the beer bar. My silly mistake.
