It's been a few years, but I was able to take over a seller's II membership. I purchased an II affiliated timeshare and it was the only timeshare owned by the seller. They offered me their pre-paid II membership years (2 or 3?) and II was wiling to merge their account with mine. So I extended my membership a couple of years.

Just clarifying that it's not something that automatically transfers. But it's good to know that it may be possible to transfer the II Acct.
