We are all arriving (3 of us, from different US airports) about 4pm and then getting transportation (via a resort package) to the Royal Islander next month.

We'll be tired and hungry - any suggestions for a quick, easy and inexpensive first night meal?

Thank you!

Paco's Tacos is right at the Islander - fun, decent food and reasonable prices.

Thanks

Paco Taco's might be perfect (we've been to Captains Cove and Hacienda Sisal a few years ago while staying at the Sands)......but we were looking for something lighter/quicker/cheaper for the first night and first time at the Islander - this could be it - thanks!

Where is Frito Fritango?......tried to look it up but couldn't find anything.

Some trips, like the late arrival trips, we take a frozen garlic chicken pasta casserole for our first night. We buy this at Costco and put it in the checked bag.

Cancun for us takes an entire day and its dark by time we arrive. Our resort has a deli and makes great burgers and sandwiches, so that is how we roll anymore.

Im surprised that the Royals don't have a deli.

Is it ok to take meat into Mexico now? When we went to Cancun last Nov. I had 2 sandwiches (brought from home) in my backpack & customs guy wanted to know if there was any type of meat in them (there wasn't -both were PB & J) -he said no meats, fruits or vegies allowed to be brought in.

The Royal Caribbean next door has a deli with a wide assortment of prepared foods such as hot sandwiches, soups, salads, pizza, desserts, etc, that is available for use by anyone staying at the Royal Islander. Your key card is good at any of the other Royal Resorts as well.

Thanks so much

Appreciate the suggestions. We'll be staying in Cancun for part of the week so we look forward to trying a couple of these places....and it's nice to know where to start for an easy bite.

It looks like the frozen casserole would be legal.
