Just got confirmation from II on June, 2009 week in Waikiki at Hawaiian Sun Holidays @ Waikiki Banyan. Anyone have any new information on this place? Tripadvisor has it as a Resortquest at Waikiki Banyan(same address) with mostly favorable reviews. Tug reviews are not so great. I have until tomorrow(Wed) to cancel; I think.

Background: Family of four, 2 parents, 18 and 20yr old "kids"(by then). Never been to Hawaii; very active bunch. Plane tickets right now are reasonable to HNL from our small town.

Any reason not to take it? Unusual "must see" places?

PS-I am so excited about this because the latest hotel rate is almost twice my MF+exchange fee!!! I just love timesharing!

We stayed at the Banyan last November and would highly recommend it for the location and size of the room. We had a partial view of the ocean from the lanai which also looked down at the pool area. They are about 4 blocks from the beach which you can walk in 5 minutes. Several convenience stores located within 3 blocks. Nice reasonably priced restaurants nearby and a small "cantina" next to the pool area which is open until 7 -8 pm. For the price and location it a winner.

We own there

There are at least three different timeshares at the Waikiki Banyan Resort-The one you are staying at ,theresort Quest and April Sound at the Waikiki Banyan.
All the rooms are the same size and share the common amenities.
We have stayed at Hawaii Sun a couple times and it did not seem to be kept up as well as the one we own although both resorts use the same managers but there are diff budgets and HOA's. We own four weeks there and have for ten plus years. They trade for much better quality resorts and we have stayed at ten plus Marriott's exchanging them. The resort is actually only 1 block from the ocean. Have fun. The resort should be clean and in okay condition but with $400 maintenance fees do not expect a four star.
