How long did it take after submitting the paperwork to Vistana? I sent a email to the title department. The automated reply had general info, part of which stated 4-6 weeks for transfers. I'm right at 4 weeks at the moment.

We are going on 9 weeks for our transfer to finalize. I had received an automated response that it would be 6-8 weeks. Our closing company was just informed by Vistana that they are extremely busy so it may be a couple more weeks. I don’t know if they have cut back on staff for the group handling resale purchases, but this process seems excessive. We will be glad once it’s done.

Best regards.

Thanks. I reread my email. It states 6-8 weeks. Presume it'll be longer based on your post.

You will get a simple letter from Vistana that has the contract number, though I think the contract number is also on the original owner's deed. You should be able to use that to setup online access if they have completed your transfer in the system.

Update- after 11 weeks our new unit at WKV is finally in our account. I spoke with a rep in the deed transfer group and I asked if the slow process was due to a shortage of staff or just being very busy. He said “both.” He did acknowledge that they had been running in the 6-8 week window.

We are just glad the process is done and we can move forward. Good luck to others going through the process.

Best regards.
