So I held out. I love trading in Interval International and have been loyal for years and always recommend them.

Unfortunately there was one thing that really pissed me off. In the past I always took the platinum upgrade. I kept reading here on tug how others got promotions 1/2 off but I never did. Yes I called and still couldn’t get them.

So I let my platinum upgrade expire on principle. I decided to wait them out to see if I would ever be offered a discount.

Today I was updating a search I had and as I went through the pages to confirm the update, the offer showed for 1/2 price, up to 2 years for either gold or platinum. So I took it, finally got it. It took 6 months since my expiration to get it. I also got $100 discount dollar, not sure what that is.

So if you have been waiting too, go look to see if the discount Is being offered to you.

Just curious - how long after your Plat status expired until you saw the 1/2 off offer?

My Plat status expires in July, and I am also trying to hold out for the 1/2 price offer. No luck so far.

I just checked my Basic account. Upgrades to Gold or Platinum are only showing the basic discounts. Nothing 50% off. But I have a couple years before things expire.

Does your new platinum membership expire 2yrs from now, or 2 yrs from when it lapsed?

I received the same offer about two weeks ago. Funny thing was that my offer came by U.S. Mail (which I thought was odd).

I also received an offer in the mail (can't remember when - maybe about a year ago). I think that my platinum had also lapsed. So I did the two-for-one renewal. The next month I got another postcard in the mail with another code. So I booked two more years. That was a happy timesharing moment.

Good question. I just went to check, expires 2 years from date I renewed.

Wow! I am away. I hope I have something in the mail waiting for me.

Usually with platinum, after 120 days (lapse) it is considered a new membership (starting that day) vs a renewal which would be retro-active to the end of the old membership.

Thank you for checking! I'm debating on letting mine lapse, in hopes of getting a 50% off offer. Just wanted to make sure it wouldn't be retro-active if I do so.

Thanks for the tip. I saw on II's boards where someone renewed and it was retro-active. I think that was for a regular membership, but it got me wondering about platinum.

Mine expires this month. This morning, I started to book a getaway in Dec., but I received a message saying the Platinum account must be active in Dec. Well, for a $50 discount on the single getaway, I guess it isn't worth it. I will definitely book the getaway if I can get a significant discount on renewal.

Mine expires this month. I haven’t seen an offer yet. I can afford to wait because I don’t exchange anything. I just book Getaways and I’m all booked up this year.

Mine expires late August. Don't think I've seen any mail offers of late to extend at a discount. I'll likely hold off on renewing as well and hope for a discount at some point down the road.
