Looks like a big fight happened in the Hawaiian Marketplace, right in front of Polo Towers. The ink's not even dry on my Polo Towers purchase, and this happens. Sheesh!

Fight on the strip

It could get better. I was reading an article the other day about the people who apparently own the land the marketplace is on also owns all the land to the corner of Harmon and the strip. At one time they had plans to redevelope all that land into a casino and then 9/11 happened among other things. As it stands now, they're happy to continue to rent the land to present tenents.

Eventually, that will change. That strip frontage land is far to valuable to just sit on it forever. When we purchased in '98, PT's told us that the building in front of PT's was zoned so that it could never be higher than 4 stories. Thus everyone on the 5 floor and above was "guarenteed" a strip view.

With the way Vegas changes zoning laws to fit the needs of the highest bidder, I'm wondering how long it will really be before a high rise is built directly in front of PT's, blocking the view of the strip or at least a major portion of it?

As for the fight, I bet that was a lot of fun to watch from some of the higher rooms in tower one.

the article said there was a fight at "a party." But where could you hold a party at the Hawaiian Market Place?

Perhaps the indoor area where the fast food court used to be? Either that or the large open are area where they used to hold the Hawaiian preformers used to do their thing.
