Festiva Special Assessment now in Collection Agency

Marriott shadow ridge
Festive Adventure Club in March 2023 sent a letter to collect a special assessment due to a shortage in budget and property issues. Started at $230. Got a collection notice and now went up to $320 in 5 months. What recourse do I have. Any suggestions.

Your recourse is: pay it and continue using it, or don’t pay it and have them terminate your Festiva Club membership.

I am not sure what the consequences of termination are. It may be that your ownership reverts to the underlying timeshare(s), or that those are foreclosed. There may or may not anlso be a credit hit. I own at a resort that Festiva/LaTour manages but I never converted so I don’t know the details of how the club is structured. Hopefully someone can chime in who does.
