Here in Cancun 2/4/12 The weather is not great. It hasn't been sunny since wee arrived and isn't supposed to shine for another 9 days. It is 79f so that's on the plus side. It's my first time at the RI and I must say it's a bit retro but that adds to the charm. If the weather was good this would be perfect. This is the second year in a row that we have come to Cancun and had bad weather in Jan or Feb. I'm not sure that the dead of winter is the time to come here. We are thinking of Aruba or Cabo for next year does anyone have any suggestions.

Mazatlan weather

We have been in Mazatlan for 4 weeks and the first week was cloudy and today is cloudy. Cabo is just west of Mazatlan and I imagine they are having the same weather. Usually Februay gets better than January, but so far, it is hard to say. This week is supposed to be cloudy from what I see. How long wil you be in Cancun?

Ah weather. First week a year after buying there had lousy weather, ugh. Couple of years ago, went to a small caye off Belize, couldn't boat over until the day after landing due to weather, then had 4 days of great weather. Apparently it rained solid the 10 days before, those on the island, in small huts, were stir crazy (literally). It's just luck or bad luck. A coworker had a bad winter week in Aruba a couple years ago. Now we go to Cancun/Playa for two weeks in Jan/Feb and for years, overall have had great weather. Meaning one week is not enough anywhere, go for two where ever you go.

CABO.............for winter anyway. We only go in winter months. Too hot in summer.

It has only rained on us once in Cabo. It was a very hard rain that filled up all the ditches and swamped downtown. We now know why the curbs are so high in Cabo. All the cactus started blooming in the Siera Luguna. It was a pretty cool sight.

PV has rained on us twice but cleared up pretty quick.

Cancun rained on us 3 days out of 14 and got kinda humid.

January and February are typically rainy months in cancun, usually around 15 to 17 inches. April is a dry month

We lucked out. Just got back from Cabo and was told that it had rained there 4 times in 2011. We got to be there for the 1st. 2012 rain. Not complaining. Had 14 wonderful days and didn't mind swimming in the rain
