Hello, I could really use some help and understanding on if buying into HVC Max at retail is in anyway helpful. It seems the use case fits us a bit but the HVC Max prices seem high compared to what I’m reading here, even tho we can afford this without financing right now.
The what to buy new questions thread is here for those that are interested
The details would be around a 30k up front buy in we don’t need to finance. $2400 in maintenance. We travel about 3 times a year usually doing a family trip (3 of us, targeting Europe for a week), a trip to Asia to see family(usually Seoul), a trip where my wife spends some time with her family (can be Asia or Europe)
There’s possibility that we may want to occasionally meet some place central between the US and Asia (Hawaii maybe), or Asia itself or the west coast of the US.
It feels like the DEX system might be a good fit via max, but I have concerns of inventory availability tho we generally can be somewhat flexible of where we go for the family vacation and the wife + her family getaway
Any feedback would be very much appreciated since this seems potentially like a good fit or drastically overpriced from an upfront perspective
Many thanks in advance
Sorry for the spam on this forum with my questions. I received some feedback in the HGVC section that this section is more appropriate for my question
I’m keen to understand the HGV max system and if it fits our needs. I bought into a presentation for HGV Max which seemed like it would fit what we’re looking for, but now it seems overall inventory is a concern and potentially alignment to our lifestyle is a concern.
$33k upfront (no financing) with $2400 or so maintenance for 8500 points annually. I understand the economics of the transaction.
We generally pay off the rack prices for 3, potentially more holidays per year of different profiles. My hope for this program was that it would make annual planning costs simpler for on the move less luxurious travel (wife and I are youngish with a 10yr old and do things like Iceland ring road 10 day trip or a week in Europe, but spend 90% of the time seeing sites) and occasional access to nice resorts more attractive when planning extended family gatherings centrally into a central location between the US East coast and Asia (Hawaii or US west coast)
Any feedback would be very much appreciated!
