Federal jury duty

The other week I got notice that I was supposed to show for Federal Jury duty May 5.

This morning I got a call because of the virus, ignore, they will notify me by mail if I am needed for a future Date.

Guess that says it all.

Guess that says it all.

I had been called for US District court jury duty in Newark, NJ starting in April6th for 2 weeks. I got the same cancellation email and call yesterday. One silver lining.

I’ve been called in my county several times but was never selected. I would actually love to serve at least once just to have the experience. I love to analyze and argue (in case you couldn’t tell). When they find out I worked for an insurance company and DW was in law enforcement, I always get struck.

I have never been called for jury duty. My lawyer son said there's a reason for that.

The reason is not 'cuz he's a lawyer. They & their families are not exempt.
I have a lawyer in the family. In his years as a lawyer, he's been called 4 times.
1- Grand Jury, 1 - Federal Jury, and 2 - State Juries.
He says that the lawyers in the case always excuse him becuz he "knows too much."
A judge saw him and called him to the bench. "Mr --, you don't need to be here."

No Jury trials here- per the state Supreme Court last week. Plus the wife being an attorney and being over 70, I am officially off the rolls.
