In the Fairfield system, can you borrow points from the next years allocation? If not, is there any limitation on the number of points that you can purchase to complete a reservation through Fairfield? Like, if I had 105K points and needed 210K, would they let me rent that many from them to complete a reservation?

You can borrow points from next year. Believe me, we have always used our points in the year prior to them actually being allocated. And you can "rent" points, but I don't know if there is a limit. It seems to me that there would be some kind of threshhold where renting points would no longer be economically feasible.

Point Rental Limit

In any given use year, you may only rent as many points as you own ... see page 10 of Directory. Uncle Davey

You can rent points from other owners cheaper than renting them from FF.

If you are using them for generic RCi Deposits than they can be rented cheap from members in December before they go to waste and expire.

If you are renting to use in the fairfield system next years points will cost more than expiring points but still 1/2 of what FF charges.

I have rented out my points for as little as 4.20 a year in advance. I have rented expiring points from others for as low as 3.50

next time try this

In December rent 70k points from a member for 3.50. cost 70*3.5= 245.00
make a 70 k generic deposit. Then use that deposit to get a gold crown 2 bedroom week. total cost 245.00+149.00 =394.00

You can also try it with a 28 k deposit. total cost 247.00 for the whole week. You will have to hit a bulk spacebank or go off season to get a good trade with 28 k deposit

Borrowed points and Pool Credits - two ways of using next year's points

If I understand Fairfield's rules correctly, you may borrow points from the next use year only for reservations within the Express Reservation window (90 days or less before checkin).

If you want to make a reservation farther in advance, you will need to deposit your next year's points in the Points Credit Pool (and pay a fee, $25 I think). You will receive Pool Credits in return for your points, and the Pool Credits can be used for a reservation anytime in the three years after you deposit them. You have to use Pool Credits within Fairfield, though. You can't use them in RCI, PlusPartners, for cruises, etc.
