I remember reading about this attack when it happened. I thought it was terrible. As it turns out, things went downhill and took a grim turn:

Yeah, this is about the couple whose chimpanzee savagely mauled the husband. But, this is about elder abuse, taking advantage ($$$) of the woman who is in mental decline.

Actually, it wasn't their chimpanzee, Moe, that attacked them, it was two other chimps that had escaped the facility and then attacked them. They sued the facility and received a $4 million settlement. The husband had a stroke and the wife either never handled finances or was suffering from dementia or both.

After the attack, Moe was moved to another facility where he escaped and was never found.
