Anyone here have experience with any ear plug (as stated in the Title) ? This is for partner who works in a high noise environment which requires hearing/understanding other's speech.

I guess that it would depend on the type of noise. Some people going to gun ranges wear "sonic ear valves" (google it). They are not too expensive and I can say that they work well at limiting the loud bangs and you can hear people talking. For the low cost, it might be worth a try/test.

The environment will be like a industrial kitchen, engine room, etc where the noise is a bit loud and also constant

Wonder if the employer could supply the ear plugs since it's work related?
