Looks like Japan is opening up travel soon. Japan has the largest number of International visitors to Hawaii.

Like Monk says, it's a blessing and a curse :) More people/congestion, but it helps with taxes.

Doesn't surprise me that Golden Week was a flop.

If Hawaii wants loads of Japanese visitors, it will have to get its Covid numbers down. Hawaii had 3,300 new cases and 11 deaths last week. Japan is coming off a massive spike in both cases and deaths. (Nothing like the US numbers. But still. For them, it's huge.)

I'm truly looking forward to flying in the other direction and spending some time in the land of the rising sun. But right now, they don't want me. And I'm going to yield to their wishes until a few of my friends who live there tell me the coast is clear for US visitors.

Slip, looks liked it is coming to be rainy; with cooler temperatures on the Oahu island this week.

Yep, it's mostly cloudy here too. Remember, just because it shows rain, it's doesn't mean it will rain all day. Unless a big storm moves in rain is usually intermittent. Definitely that way in Honolulu/Waikiki.
