Scroll to the bottom of the article. It was written by the Newton Group. It looks more like an ad than an actual news story, since at the bottom, they say they have an A+ rating and so many other accolades (kissing their own butts in other words).

Yes. PR Newswire is a “news” source whereas you pay $400 to $800 for a business to public an article as “news.” I know because many lawyers use it.

Would that be through the Attorney-General?
Doubtful. These outifts that purport to recover your money from scams also often turn out to be scams themselves. They signed up for the BBS just to tell us about this. They are really going out of their way to spread the word as a Google Image Search finds they are spreading the same message on many different websites. And when I say many, I mean MANY. A legitimate operation shouldn't be using a Gmail email address...

Just wondering - what’s wrong with a Gmail address? What email domains do you consider reasonable for a business? And why?

Gmail is free email and basically anonymous. You can't tie it back to a real person or business. Thus why scammers they like to use them. A reasonable email domain would be one that belongs to the company offering the service. The post I was referring to was deleted.

If you are a legit business it’s cheap and easy to get email to your own domain vs using gmail. Cheap like $10 a month so every real business should have their own web address (I’m retired IT and just did this for a start up I’m involved with, anyone can do it :))

Darn it, missed the deleted poster. I find those posters amusing. Was this a scammer trying to get “victims” to contact them?

Yes. It was a scheme to help you recover the money you were scammed out of.

In the above statement, scheme could easily be replaced with scam.

Both google and Microsoft offer reasonably easy ways to do this as well as outfits like godaddy

Interesting that this "group" is still sending out "important timeshare notification" first class mail. It says this at the bottom "if you would prefer to continue paying all fees and dues to your resort, please disregard this notice". The exit companies don't stop trying to lure people in. We have of course been "prequalified" to hear their notification! I think if you are alive, you are prequalified to be taken by these schemers. They are of course, "#1 trusted name in timeshare exit" and BBB rated A+. going in the trash

I mean registering a domain name with something like namecheap and getting an actual domain email address costs literally tens of dollars. Using gmail as a professional email address is a huge red flag.

Edit: Just realized this was a zombie thread. Disregard.

LOL, I have disregarded that advice in regard to LT Transfers!
