Folks,

I just got confirmation that my request for an exchange from the Cypress Harbor to the OceanWatch Villas in Myrtle Beach went through. :)) I am hoping that "tuggers" here can provide some insight on what building and units to request.

This is for a trip around Memorial Day.

Other tips on what to do and what not to do would be very helpful.

Any pearls of wisdom imparted would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Congrats on the confirmation. Could you tell me when you submitted that request? I have one in too. Not for the same timeframe, but I'm wondering how long it took you to get your confirmation. Probably apples to oranges, but I'm curious. Thanks.

LUVourMarriotts,

I submitted the request about 3 weeks ago almost at the beginning of the new year. I was reading the forums and it appears that as soon as you hit the third weekend in June, demand for the resort just goes through the roof. If you are looking for an exchange around that time and you do have a good trader you probably should be able to get the exchange.

On the other side, it appears that the exchangers are treated like dirt when it comes to honouring requests for special views and other things.

Let's see what pans out.

We usually go every year there and it's never been a trouble exchanging in, although I'm not using my Cypress Harbour for it.

Basically, the older buildings are oceanfront and by the main pool and bar. The new buildings are all back by the woodsy area. It's nice though as there's a lot of room and barely anyone there, so it's much better to relax. Oceanwatch is very nice facilities. It doesn't touch Ko Olina (just came back from there less than two weeks ago) but by far one of my favorite Marriott's! It's my favorite resort, II and RCI, at Myrtle Beach.

Memorial Day weekend is "Black Motorcycle Weekend" in North Myrtle Beach. My family has been there for two years running and never had any problem.

I exchanged in September and got a unit in the scallop building on a high floor. The unit was in great shape and the view was excellent. Very nice resort!

Folks,

Now that we are a lot closer to our trip date, I was wondering if TUGGER's can provide insights into what building to request and what activities we can do while we are there.

Secondly, I wanted to know if OceanWatch provides cribs for people who are travelling with infants. We'll be with another couple who has a 9-month old. I called up the resort to ask them if they had cribs and the person said that they'll try to arrange for them but could not guarantee it.

Thanks,
saxman

We had a crib last summer. It was metal & the size of a portable crib. The resort only has so many & they are 1st come 1st serve. There are also baby equipment rental companies in the area. We plan to use one this summer to rent a full size crib.

As for what to do, there are displays of brochures in the lobby as well as a conceirge to help you. There is so much to do in the area, especially lots of shopping & restaurants.
