I'm about to deposit a week 13, 2 bedroom at Banff Rocky Mountain Resort. I'm trying to get week 28 (early July but not July 4th) to tack on to our week at San Luis Obispo. Which exchange company would likely be my best bet (I know they're all a crap shoot) SFX or TPI? I have used SFX before but gave them my week 29 at BRMR so it should have been a better trader also deposited it earlier. Found them frustrating just waiting and not being able to search on line. Finally decided to guess what I would be likely to get and did end up with a very good trade even if it wasn't exactly where I wanted to go. Many people say TPI is good for the west so thought about trying them. Still refuse to give an exchange company a yearly fee so I only use independents. At least if I can't get it for next year I still have almost 2 years to use the week, although as a teacher with limited times to travel that could still be tough.

Thanks
Joan

I see a lot of the mid-level Tahoe resorts on Redweek.

Unfortunately redweek ususally won't acept BRMR. I think it's because they are connected to DAE who get lots of BRMR so that's not an option.
Good suggestion though I will see if they've changed and will accept my week now.

For what it's worth....I have had a successful exchange with SFX for Tahoe. I had a similar time frame though more liberal. June/July. I was offered 2 choices...one late June at The Ridge Tahoe and one mid July at the Olympic Village Inn. I chose The Ridge Tahoe and we loved it there. Some think it's removed from the action of the main drag and casinos-but I thought that was great-it wasn't a big deal to drive down the little hill. I matched in less than a week.

I *think* you would also qualify for the 3-1 promotion ( bonus week, Mexico bonus week) if that matters to you. You mileage may vary of course :)

Stressy you did get lucky if you stayed at the Ridge Tahoe in July because most times you won't find the Ridge Tahoe resort on these smaller exchange companies.

If I had to guess you either stayed in the Terrace which gets used for most owner bonus nights or the Naegle because only a few are with Rci from twenty five years ago when they were built. Naegles are still one of the best units at the Ridge but like rest of resort went II when Tower was built.

Most people using these other exchange companies get the cheaper units outside of the main resort but have a right to use the club house, pools area.

THE RIDGE CREST, RIDGE VIEW, RIDGE POINT, RIDGE SIERRA! These are the units you would normally find on those exchanges.

YOU DID GOOD! PHIL
