Hi All,

I get confused with the escondido welks in general. Anyone have a summary between the different ones? Anyway which one has the best kid friendly pools or best for kids in general?

Thanks!

Mountain Villas are the newest and I think best for kids.

I think that the Resort Villas are the oldest and are all 2 BR units.

If I'm wrong, someone will hopefully correct me.

You've got it correct that Mountain Villas are the newest and Resort Villas are the oldest and are all 2-BR. There are actually three sections - you're missing Villas on the Green which are those built in the middle. Some years back, the Resort Villas were all nicely refurbished (I think they did them all - I know they were all slated to be done). I think the Villas on the Green were all supposed to be done, as well, but I'm not sure of the status on those. Regardless of which of the three you stay in, you have full access to the entire property which includes 5 recreation centers all of which have at least one pool and one jacuzzi. One is an adults-only pool and is connected to the fitness center. The Mountain Springs recreation center (within the Mountain Villas section) has a zero-entry pool, a water slide (separate from pool), and a splash area. The Boulder Springs recreation center (in the Villas on the Greens section) also has two separate pools, another water slide, and a splash area. It's also connected to a small playground with a couple slides. This one tends to be our favorite recreation center and the one our kid enjoyed most starting around 18 months of age (now 10 and it's still our preferred one).

Thanks for filling in a lot of blanks, @zipporah . When I responded I knew that you owned there and was hoping that you'd respond.
Wow! Amazing that your kiddo is now 10. Time sure flies.
I read that they had a pond for fishing (barbless hooks I presume) - - have you ever tried it?

We took the Grandsons to Welk in 2017. They fished in the pond. No nibbles or bites so fishing didn't last long. The cupcake decorating was a bigger hit--the cupcake was huge and delicious.

I took my 2-year old there last 4th of July for a week. Pretty family friendly, but note there is a adult-only pool. They are pretty strict about it, and the other downside is Escondido is pretty far from San Diego area.

Yep. . .San Diego, IMO, is a day trip from The Welk. But the wineries in Fallbrook/Temucula are nearby. Oceanside is also relatively close.
