Eplus trade question

I received a trade into Surfwatch but we are not able to use it since it is the last week in the summer. (2017) I have the Eplus option but now I am locked into manually trading 1 year from the trade of date of August 12, 2017. I assume that I need to find a trade before I hit flex which would be June 12, 2017. So my question is, if now I would like to travel July or August of 2018, I would miss the bulk of the deposits that would be deposited a year out, since I would have to make sure I retraded before the flex period. The eplus seems to have bottled me in a bit or I am not understanding the process? I also didn't realize that I had to manually search either, which I am so not good at all! I usually never have luck with it...Thanks for any tips!

You can just retrade again since you get three retrades. The problem though is you are not going to get a summer Marriott HHI exchange with a manual search. E-Plus has plenty of value but not for super tough exchanges.

I thought that it maintains the same trade power as the original deposit, is that not the case?

It does but OGS's are fulfilled before units are visible for manual exchanges. So anyone with M preference, enough trading power and and OGS will match before manual exchangers like yourself even get a shot at the week.

If you know you can't use your current exchange you can do an eplus retrade now for as far out as you can and then you would still have 2 retrades left and you wouldn't have to worry about that June 2017 deadline to avoid flex.

It does but trade power is not the issue. Deposits do not go to available inventory that can be searched manually. They go to the match queue where there are far more requests than deposits. Summer HHI never has leftovers.

Thanks, big mistake on my part then, I put in a travel date until August 17th but they confirmed me that Saturday after on the 19th which is too late for us to travel with a child going to college. Painful lesson..thanks! My plan B would be to travel to California this summer or next, probably Lawrence Welk will be our only option of popping up

You can find really good stuff early in the mornings but it takes work. Summer HHI is just one of those things where people have so many requests going all the time.

Thanks! I will try! The system doesn't prefill easy. Do you find it best to search via the map, the name or all destinations?

I do map for areas that rarely have anything available like the FL Gulf Coast. For most areas I prefer to search by code. I have a list of the II codes that I want. After entering your list you can copy/paste it to a notebook and then copy/paste when you want to search.

Just checking - by chance did this match overnight? If so, you can cancel if you are within 24 hours of the match.....

Unfortunately I was at 36 hours after the match, that would have been a lot easier though!

UPDATE! I manually searched this am and found a Newport coast on June 11th and took it! I did also email Mark DelCampo and he was very informative on how the retrade works.
Thank you everyone for the help!
