Enrolling Legacy Re-Sale Weeks (purchased in 2019) - do they count toward status?

For anyone that has purchased re-sell legacy weeks and then enrolled them into the DC points program by purchasing Aruba or Buying DC Points.........does the re-sale legacy weeks you are enrolling in this process count toward MVC Status (i.e. Executive, Presidential, Chairmen) or Bonvoy Status (Titanium). My hope is to buy a few legacy re-sell weeks, possibly enroll them next year if they have a promo at the time and utilize them to build status on MVC and Bonvoy, rather than only buying DC points to build status. I have heard that re-sell legacy weeks will never count toward any status with MVC or Bonvoy. Trying to validate that.

What about re-sale DC points? I have heard you can never convert re-sale DC Points to Bonvoy Points (you never should anyways). I wanted to ask those that bought re-sale DC points, do they build MVC status or Bonvoy status?

Once enrolled they could for status. We were already Chairman's Club (top level) but enrolled 7 EY & 1 EOY week last year by buying an Aruba week. Who told you they did not count, a salesperson?

While theoretically resale DC points could be blocked out of converting to Bonvoy and other secondary benefits, people have found that in practice that they work just the same as points direct from Marriott.

I was advised by MVC sales person that if MVC allows you to enroll legacy re-sell weeks that you purchased on secondary market in past few years, those enrolled weeks would be convertible to DC points, but never accumulate or count toward status levels with MVC or Bonvoy.

I wondered it it was a salesperson. They were trying to convince you to buy from them by being less than honest.

Less than honest is a very nice way of saying that they are LYING to your face.

When I enrolled resale weeks, they did count toward MVC status. It was mentioned last year by sales when I bought, and again this year, that my purchase would elevate us to MVC Chairman and MB lifetime Titanium status (good for wife as she is just lifetime Platinum).
