As much as I would like to enroll my EOY unit I do not think it would be of any advantage financially.

If I understand correctly I would have to pay to initially enroll my 1 EOY resale unit ($1,495). Anyone enrolling an annual usage resale week would pay the same rate, as I would pay for every other year usage. I would then have to pay club dues annually ($165.00) even though I would be using my unit every other year, so I would actually be paying $330.00 per exchange. I believe that if I decided to use my week that particular year instead of exchanging I would still be paying those club dues.

In addition I would also have to pay for any external exchanges through II. I have never traded my unit but now I would be interested in traveling to other areas. I am not crazy about using II to trade into other Marriott's so this would be something I would be interested but I feel I am being penalized for owning an EOY unit versus an annual unit.

I would have joined when it first came out if the enrollment was half for an EOY unit and I could pay club dues every other year. Please correct me if I am looking at it wrong so I do not miss out because right now I do not believe it makes sense.

Also how does it work if I did enrolled and I exchanged internally but did not use all of my points. I am not sure if the remainder can be banked using an Every Other Year week.

Thanks for any input you can offer.

You won't really be able to save on fees by enrolling a single EOY week. Your enrollment fee would still be $1495. The only time an EOY week owner can save on the enrollment fee is if they are enrolling two EOY weeks. In that case I believe MVCI treats it like one EY week for enrollment purposes and still only has to pay the single week enrollment fee.

You would have to still pay the $165 annual DC fee every year even when you don't have usage for points. You can still bank points or borrow from one year to the next. This would allow you use of your EOY week in years that are not your regular use year, much like you can do in II today.

thank you for the input. I just wanted to be sure I wa looking at it correctly. It appears that it would not work for me.
