End of 3 day hotel quarantine for returning Canadians

The Canadian govt announced this morning that as of July 5th all fully (2 weeks past last shot) vaccinated Canadians who are returning by air do not need to do the mandatory 3 night stay in a hotel, followed by 11 days at home. We will still need to have a negative test within 72 hrs before arriving and another test at the airport but that is all. The govt is redoing the ArriveCan App so our Covid vaccination records can be uploaded into it.

And for those Canadians who are fully vaccinated and test negative upon arrival, will no longer need to do an additional test at the 8 day point after arrival.

Right now ALL non residents who do not have Cdn.Citizenship or permanent resident status or certain aboriginal and/or Jay treaty status - are still verboten.

this would include fully vaccinated non-Canadian spouses of Canadian's who reside outside Canada
and wish to visit family in Canada.

So right now unless your a player on the Vegas Golden Knights and are coming to Montreal for game 6 on Thurs.June 24 - you are out of luck.

Or if you are Gary Bettman, the NHL Commissioner. He was seen trying to be inconspicuous in the stands in Montreal. He is an American and hopefully fully vaccinated but I bet he didn't need to do the hotel or other quarantine like other folks.

maybe he is the designated back up goalie for either team - if all the other net minders get injured.
