Hi I'm looking for ideas for a new email program.

We have kept our dialup account for years so we wouldn't have to change our email address even though we have cable. I want an email account that I can check from anywhere and that has enough storage that I can wait to download attachments until I am at the appropriate computer. And a program that has great junkmail filters - I get 1000s of junk mails a week - what a waste of time.

The college I attend has window live - outlook web access and although its nice to have my email all over campus and on my netbook, the program is horrible.

I have a yahoo mail box but it gets lots of crap.

I use dell and mac so I would rather it not be platform specific.

I really want to make this change once.

Any ideas?

Thanks
emily

Gmail will give you everything you have asked for and much more should you decide to play around with it. It's simply the best.

gmail has the best junk/spam filter of any of them and tons of free space.

And, you can enable imap in gmail's settings and use it with any email client, including outlook, windows mail/outlook express, thunderbird or any other email client you can think of. And when you are using an internet cafe or somebody elses computer, you can use the web interface.

I've just dumped Yahoo as not only was the junk mail getting out of hand but the delivery and receipt were too hit and miss. Changed to gmail and no complaints so far!

If you mean a gmail invite, you don't need invitations anymore. You can just sign up at gmail.com, using your existing google account. If you don't have one, you can create one there.
