I thought I would share my impression of Elite Alliance. Most Tuggers will not find this helpful since you can't use EA with most timeshares. I was able to deposit a Four Seasons Aviara week about a year ago. They waived the first year membership fee of $495 but I paid $600 to upgrade to a premium membership. That was a mistake because I can't get any exchanges with my FSA week so now I have all these unused exchange credits that expire in another year but my membership expires in July. They want me to pay another $495 to renew for a year to use my credits. Why would I renew if I have not found anything to exchange into in the past year. I have made requests but nothing comes up. Now with Covid, we can't fly anywhere so this feels like a sunk cost. Also, their exchanges are very expensive. You need to deposit a week (you pay the MF on the deposit), then you pay a $595-$895 exchange fee plus cleaning fees in the $400-$600 per week. All in, you are paying $3000 - $4000 for a week's exchange. I complained since I can't use the membership due to Covid as well as no exchanges coming in. EA extended my membership until end of 2020. I doubt I will find anything by end of year.
