Helping my understanding, if my elara ts is week 35 and platinum season, can I then utilize the 10-12 month homeweek window to reserve for week 52? I understand that those specific weeks were probably sold as non-floating weeks. Those owners have the option to "release" the week, which i assume goes into the pool?

How long does a week 52 owner have to release or claim the week? any chance that they release in the 10-12 month window and then i can claim before club reservations open?

Thanks in advance of any advance or answers. Waiting on rofr review with elara currently.

If weeks 51/2 are event weeks then no, you won’t be able to book unless an event week owner cancels their week. They have > 30 days prior to cancel w/o losing points.

Now, I am currently traveling and wasn’t able to verify that those weeks are indeed event weeks at Elara.

I'm not sure if it's normally rare for an owner to give up those event weeks, but I was able to book Dec 24 to Dec 28 easily in club reservation season in May as a non-owner and had choice of several types of rooms. I ended up cancelling it but don't think it's that hard to get a room in Vegas during the holidays.

30 days of the event week(November 30th then), or 30 days from the beginning of the calendar year? i guess that's what i was asking. When to look...

I can't imagine many owners giving up that stay or rental income. Based on what i'm reading, there are 20 rooms that match my 2BP(corner plus rooms), so maybe i'll get lucky. I do like the reservations during club season idea, not sure a whole week is in order.

Does anyone know how Elara handled including the 2BR corner units in 3 and 4 BR sales? (This br would produce 118 for the hotel (2 per floor-ish) x 52 weeks or 6136 shares, but how many of those were alloted to 3 and 4 br combo purchases?)

30 days before the start of the reservation.

A fixed week owner can cancel at anytime. Some may decide early on before the Club window opens up to everyone. For example, if they borrow next year’s points or decide to use Clubpoints, they would be giving up their automatic reservation. And others may wait until the absolute last moment before a penalty can occur (which is 30 days before checkin for Home week - see table below).

But there are two additional things that might impact Elara availability

(1) Some weeks may belong to Westgate which was the original developer. I don’t believe we know how many weeks are in HGVC vs Westgate and especially for weeks 51 and 52.

(2) Elara is also a fee for service arrangement which we’re discovering may not be a good thing. Event weeks picked up via ROFR, might be retained for rental purposes and never make it back into the club inventory. Does the fee for service arrangement even allow HGVC to release week 52 back to Club members?

Note: NYE (Week 52) is the highest demand time (link).

thanks! Well there’s only 1,020 people maybe wanting the same reservation. Assuming they have Clubpoints in full value. After making a home week reservation, I’d be able to borrow from the following year to make/take a reservation even before the homeweek usage?

It may be high demand, but apparently not all that high. I currently hold a reservation in a 1BR Grand at Elara for Dec 27-Jan 1. Booked it less than 6 months ago in club season. And while I wasn't able to snag a plus unit, I had no problem at all getting the normal 1BR Grand. Probably could have gotten the plus unit if I had been just a little bit earlier.

1200 units is a lot. I forgot about that

Home week reservation uses exactly what you own in the exactly unit size, type and season for the full week on the designated checkin date. You can only use your current usage for home week reservation.

NOTE: As an Elara owner “Home resort” and “By Hilton Club Priority” below won’t apply.

I also forgot about the number of units at that location ;)

Is this a demand chart for all locations or for specific locations?

Las Vegas because of the intense heat in the summer and pretty cold weather in the late fall and winter as well as not being a place that particularly is attractive for kids would seem to be not in high demand during those periods. We like last summer early fall and mid spring as the best times to be there.

We agree for spring and fall for Vegas. I think the demand doesn't fluctuate with weather because it's in comparison to the market which would include other locations that are greatly affected by seasons with outdoor activities. Las Vegas doesn't have the same demand for outdoor with the exception of pool activities at the hotels.

I can understand that since the shows and casinos are such an attraction, however, my husband and I love walking day and night along the strip. During the daytime we just need to stay on the shady side of the street since the sun is so strong and hot. Even when it is 90 out in the shade it's fine for us. During early fall and mid spring it is perfect.

The II travel demand linked in post #7 is for Las Vegas.

Well that may be the true but I certainly wouldn't want to be in Las Vegas in late June, July, August, Early September, December, January, February or March. We like being outside in comfortable weather on Vacation. If the weather is undesirable we may as well stay in NY.
