I've purchased theatre tix in the past with no problems- however I've recently noticed on occasion that some events were being sold up to the day of the event. The tickets were to be emailed to the winning bidder.

I wasn't aware that tix could be negoitiable and be emailed. Has anyone any experience buying or selling theatre tix this way???

No experience with this exact situation, but many tix these days are emailed to the buyer. What's to stop you from forwarding on to a 'new' buyer. If you pay with PayPal there is some modicum of protection, isn't there?

Normally on an online ticket order you would print out a confirmation with a confirmation # and take that to the box office at the theater to get the actual tickets. Same day should have a cut off time on ordering which is at least 2 hours before curtain.

As Joe states, now you can print out the tickets on your home PC for many events. When buying the tickets, the selling agency sends an e-mail with a link to open for printing of the tickets.

Thus, the eBay seller might have purchased such tickets and be planning to send the link to the eBay buyer.

E-Mailing Tickets

I have received tickets by E-Mail purchased on ebay a number of times and not had any problems. I think once a person E-Mails the tickets to you, they can't E-Mail them to someone else so yuo shouldn't get ripped off. I prefer getting tickets with close dates E-Mailed so I don't have to worry about mail issues.

Q. What if I print more than one copy of my ticket or a photocopy is made?
A. Only the first scan of the barcode on your ticket will be allowed entry.
Make sure you keep the printed ticket in a safe place like you would cash, and protect it just like you would any other ticket! If more than one copy were to arrive, the barcode scanner will alert the attendant that the ticket has already been scanned. If there is a dispute, the purchaser's name and the last four-digits of the credit card used to make the purchase is on each ticket.

We've bought and sold TF tix many times for concerts (yes, on eBay)...no issues..
