I am unfamiliar with the property...looks like large property with various buildings and perhaps some WorldMark and some not?

Appreciate feedback.

That is exactly it. In looking at TripAdvisor, the poor reviews are for the Lodge (hotel stlye). TUG members would likely stay in the condo units, part of which are WorldMark.

It is a very large resort. I have stayed in three different sections, all on the golf course with excellent views; most recently a year ago. I thought the 1 bedroom units were larger than average. The resort is so large that is was difficult to find my unit when I arrived well after dark on my last visit, so plan to arrive during daylight.

WorldMark Eagle Crest is entirely consistent with other WorldMark resorts, if you have any experience. The WorldMark units were refurbished within the last few years. For that reason, I cannot think of any reason I would not give it a '10' rating.

There is a sales presence there, so be prepared for that. I did not have any problems declining the invitation.

Looking in RCI, the 1 bedroom units are described as 574 sq. ft. hotel units with a mini-fridge. That is about half the size of a WorldMark 1 bedroom. If you are exchanging into Eagle Crest, you will want at least a 2 bedroom.

We were lucky enough to get this resort as either a getaway or an AC a couple of years ago. We stayed in a two bedroom two bath unit that was completely lovely. It had a large deck and was close to a walking trail and the center with the swimming pool, etc.

I don’t know anything about the lodge. The timeshare unit that we stayed in was part of a large area of timeshares, but all of the ones that I saw were townhouse style, and we had dedicated (included) parking right out in front of our unit.

I would welcome a chance to go back there.

We've been there about 10 times and always in 2bdrm, Even did a family reunion there with about 15 of us in a few units and everyone fell in love with it. We have stayed in both WM and non WM. Have heard people complain about the hotel units before.

First of all, I pretty much ignore TripAdvisor reviews of timeshares. They complain about the lack of daily cleaning or lack of shampoo etc etc. Maybe they got hit up for a sales presentation and want to get back at the resort. Whatever, the reviews are frequently that the place is a dump when it isn't anywhere close.

Eagle crest has different timeshare groups. Most are the 'regular' Eagle Crest units which are townhomes lined up either along a golf course or along the canyon. Depending on how much of a hill it is on, there can be lots of stairs or not too many. Perfectly nice; nothing fancy, but you go there for the outdoor activities. Worldmark has a variety of units there as well, mostly single floor units in 2 story buildings; 4 (or so) up and down. Stairs to access the upper units and a couple stairs to access the lower ones, but they also have portable ramps for those lower units.
If you trade into something labeled just Eagle Crest, you will get the townhome. If you trade in via WM, you will probably get one of the units in the 8-plex. WM does have a couple of hotel units, but I doubt they would ever end up in an exchange. They have a cooktop and microwave but no oven and are the only unit types with that kitchen configuration. They are convenient for a 1 night stay on the way through because there is an elevator and carts to haul your stuff around.

Eagle Crest resort, not timeshare, runs the lodge and rents out room just like another hotel. The air conditioning is a typical noisy motel AC/heat type thing. This is what the trip advisor reviews are likely talking about.

If the TripAdvisor reports put people off that will leave more room for those of us that love Eagle Crest! :) We just spent two very pleasant weeks there in a two bedroom timeshare townhouse. We have been many times and plan on returning.

We bought a week there after a great stay and now do a week in the timeshare units with our kids for a week every summer-we love it. One kid is a golfer so that’s great for her and friends. I don’t golf but the units are lovely, kitchens are very well equipped, lots to do around there and you can’t beat that central oregon air.

I was there this past summer in one of the 2 bedrooms backing up to the canyon and loved the resort. I thought it was the nicest timeshare resort I ever ever stayed at other than some Marriott resorts. I do have some pictures of the unit if interested.

Trip Advisor, is a joke. I just read a review about the Marriott Manor Club in Williamsburg ,VA. The reviewer stated his villa smelled liked a musty gym. As an owner at this resort, this is not true. Each villa is inspected before the next guest can occupied the villa.

We owned a few Eagle Crest weeks back when Jeldwen owned Eagle Crest and Trendwest managed Worldmark. It was pretty good back then. Jeldwen was caught cooking their books and had to sell a bunch of properties which included Eagle Crest. Eventually Holiday Inn bought some of Eagle Crest inventory and sold it to some company out of Florida.

The Eagle Crest owned inventory was managed by the HOA. The inventory was similar to Worldmarks but inferior in the furnishings. Eagle Crest inventory back in the day included golf discounts. These summer weeks were easy to rent out. Stay away from winter weeks.

The main attraction for this resort is golf. There are hiking and biking trails but the three golf courses are the main attraction. Using Worldmark to get an Eagle Crest unit is what we do. I wouldn't buy a float week at Eagle Crest. They are kind of hard to get rid of.
