DVC exchange using Interval International

Hi all- I know this is probably been asked here many times, but I searched through the threads and did not find anything very recent on this subject. I’m attempting to exchange a SoCal summer timeshare (high demand) for a WDW resort. Through the threads I did read, it seems as though the ongoing searches don’t work very well for anyone. So is there any kind of routine as far as when they dump the DVC timeshares onto Interval? How many months ahead? Or are they scattered throughout the year?

We are starting now to try and get an exchange for fall of 2027. Am I starting too early?

My understanding is that DVC inventory is released in batches around 7 months before check-in and doesn't stay around long enough to be picked up by OGS.

But I have no personal experience...this is just what I have read.

Put in an ongoing search AND look online periodically during the day. Esp look in the early hours of the morning EST. While an OGS may not work well, there's not much downside to having one set up as you can look manually as well. The only downside is if you choose to control the check in day such that you wouldn't take a given exchange for a different weekend day (Fri, Sat or Sun). Most deposits are 1 BR but occasionally you'll see 2 BR. Most deposits are Animal Kingdom, Saratoga Springs and Old Key West.

For those unfamiliar with Interval International and some of the lingo. While many here use the term OGS or On-Going Search, II calls it a Request. There is a button in My Units called "Place Request".
