What do you think my chances would be to get a 1 or 2 Bedroom Villa at either Disney Boardwalk or Disney Beach Club if I were to deposit my Wyndham points first? I am very flexible with dates, so that is not an issue. I know that I can get a studio without depositing first, so I'm trying to see if depositing first is worthwhile.

It has nothing to do with deposit first. Wyndham has generic units they search with on II. The generic units have enough power to pull any DVC, they just have to be available.

Don't Deposit First Exchanges Get Matched First?

I was under the impression that the units that show up during a request first were only those units that did not get matched by an ongoing request. If what you're saying is correct, I guess the next question is does DVC deposit 1BR's for Boardwalk and Beach Club or should I accept the fact that a studio is the best I can do at these locations. I know 1 & 2 BR's show up @ OKW and SSR, but I prefer the location of the Boardwalk & Beach Club over OKW and SSR.

My Experience

I just got a 1 bedroom at Old Key West after waiting about 2 weeks trading Wyndham/Worldmark. I would have loved Boardwalk or one of the others - but we really just wanted to be on Disney property. We put in for all Disney properties but that's what came up. Best of luck.:cheer:

5 Disney resorts avilable this morning at 6 AM

There were 5 of the 6 Disney resorts available this morning (DAK Disney Animal Kingdom has never shown up so far) when I did a search with my Marriott Grande Ocean (MGO at Hilton Head), greenie week 3, when I did it at 6 AM. Tomorrow morning at 5-6 AM EST should almost be as good.

IMHO

In the last 18 months I have gotten a 2BR at Boardwalk, a 1BR at Boardwalk, and twice I've gotten a 1BR at Beach Club. None of these were gotten with a request. I was just lucky to be looking at the right time.

Request first IS a form of ongoing request. There are debates here as to whether II gives higher priority to ongoing requests that are request first versus ongoing requests that are deposit first, but no one really knows. If anything, the thought (or fear) is that request first will be given higher priority than deposit first, because with deposit first, II has already got your week. However, I use deposit first anyway, because I like getting bonus weeks (ACs).

What you may be thinking is that ongoing requests are given higher priority than online searches. That is definitely true.

Disney does deposit Boardwalk and Beach Club 1-bdrms and 2-bdrms, but they are much rarer than OKW or SSR.

It does seem that DVC deposits more OKW and DSS than any other resort - but then again I think they are larger than the others. I think your best bet for BCV, DBW or DWL for a 1BR is to put in an ongoing search as early as you can. (I already have my Nov 2009 requests in since Sept). If it gets too close to my date of travel - then I will add in OKW and DSS and be happy that I am still on Disney property. But, then I check the "leftovers" every morning for one to show up at the location I want and then pay the extra enchange fee if something does end up showing up.

Why would you be paying an extra exchange fee if you already have an ongoing request in, and thus have paid the fee?
