This is a free 1 BR (with sleeper sofa) at Driftwood Beach Club in Lauderdale by the Sea, FL. Mom died on Christmas eve and this is left in my parents estate. None us kids want it. It is fully paid for and they were members in good standing. We just need to clear it from the estate so trustee can close the trust. It really is a nice place and associated with RCI points so my parents would trade around and go other places. It was great for them, but just not for us. It is week 34. Private beach access. Website boasts the largest heated pool in Lauderdale by the Sea. Property has also undergone very nice updates recently. We would love for this to go to someone who would enjoy it. Resort would also be a good one to rent as it is very popular. The resort will even rent it out for you for a 25% commission. Good reviews on trip advisor. We will pay for whatever fees are associated with transfer.
taxes: $25.84/year
maintenance fees: 545.00/year paid through 5/2020 - they typically have not increased this much like some timeshare places do
Week: 34
size: 1 BR with sleeper sofa
website: www.driftwoodbeachclub.net
originally purchased: April, 1996

@gkbuser , sorry to hear about about you mom! I'm not an expert, but other folks have posted on here that you, the children, can just refuse to accept this inheritance! Here's one post on this:

Sorry about losing your mother.

You should be able to give this away with little problem, it is a good resort in a great area with free parking, nice pool and beach access with low MF's. I would
advertise here in the tugs bargain basement section and on redweek. Good Luck!

I would call Driftwood up and see if they can help. They seem to have an excellent staff.

We got a exchange into Driftwood for our son when his apartment was being painted, about 5 years ago. He said the staff was excellent there. I agree with Bailey#1 contact Driftwood and see if they will take the week. I’m sure they can find someone who wants it. Sorry about the loss of your mother.

Thanks Bailey, you have given me some hope. Yes, it is a really nice place. I think it would be perfect for someone who could either use it and when they couldn't they could rent it out. The staff is great and they have even won some awards with RCI. But, they say I will have to sell it, they will not take it back.

Is this a fixed week 34, or can a different week be booked if available?

Are the annual dues payable every May?

It is a fixed week there, but with the RCI membership my parents traded weeks and locations that way. Yes,
the resort will invoice end of April for payment May 1st yearly. Maintenance fees 545.00 and taxes of 25.84
hope this helps,
