 Why am I so emotional? He has treated my wife and I years ago. We love him. He is currently in critical condition not yet intubated with a ventilator .. yet. His son was interviewed by CNN Ana Cabrera. His son Russell is a Physician as well. When you see photos of him with his family on CNN only to learn he is so sick from this virus it really makes us emotional. This segment really hit us in the gut. He is by far the best doctor we know.

I ran into the bedroom when I saw the preview to notify DW.

I have a history of a duodenal ulcer since I was in the USAF. Took tagamet for years. Dr. Weg had treated us for all our family needs.

In 1992 when I was an active patient of his I had a really bad bout of bleeding from my ulcer. Was hospitalized at Dr Weg's orders and he wanted me to take 3 pints of blood. Now in 1992 HIV/AIDS was prevalent and I was very resistant to take 3 pints of blood via transfusion. I negotiated him down to 2 pints. He agreed and assured me the blood supply was safe. I have of course fully recovered.

His office is located in Forest Hills. Parking was terrible and we got tired of his front office. But we continued to visit and consult over the years. Have not actually visited for many years. Only if he was located in a more accessible location.

Apparently he came down with his after a patient with symptoms visited him at his office. The patient coughed and he was not wearing PPE! Why I just don't know.

Did anyone here on Tug happen to see this segment on CNN this afternoon?

Sad... Very Sad.

Sad. I hope he comes off of the ventilator. The malaria drug, whatever it's called, has been helping some patients when taken with antibiotics. Perhaps he will do well with the medication.
