downsizing unit in II

If I exchanged in II for a 2 bedroom unit, then did a retrade (paying the fee for retrading) to a 1 bedroom unit, would I get the Worldmark points back for the difference between a 2 bedroom and 1 bedroom? I have heard that if you retrade for a larger unit, you get charged the points for the larger unit. I'm wondering if the reverse also occurs.

There are 2 ways to exchange into II. If you use the request first method - yes, you will get your credits back. However, they take your credits the next day for the second exchange while it takes about 2 weeks to receive the credits for the first exchange. It's a bit of a hassle because it's all manually done by the WM exchange department. If you don't get the credits back after a while, you have to call them and ask them to look into resolving the credits return issue.
